New studies advance for installation of wind farm in Mozambique
The project intends to invest in the contracting of technical services, “which will verify the” topographic and geotechnical characteristics “of the site where the wind farm is planned, read in the ADB notice for the presentation of consulting proposals.
The park, with an expected capacity of 120 MW, is an initiative of Eleqtra, a company present in several countries and with experience in the area of energy in sub-Saharan Africa.
“Geotechnical studies will include perforations to determine the composition of the soil at sites likely to locate turbines, substations and other important infrastructure components,” while other studies should cover “mapping of topographic characteristics and stormwater drainage patterns” .
The end result should be a “sufficient detail” report for future project providers, the ADB concludes.
